  • POV: You literally just gave birth… that first shower just hits different✨

There’s really nothing quite like washing off birth, stepping into fresh clothes, and taking those first moments to care for you. Postpartum care starts here, and these small acts make all the difference.

💗 Postpartum must-haves for that first bathroom trip:

💦 Peri Wash Bottle – because wiping? Not happening.
💕 Witch Hazel Drops – soothing, cooling, and healing.
❤️‍🔥 Healing Perineal Spray – instant relief where you need it most.

That first shower might feel overwhelming, but we’re right here with you to celebrate what you’ve just achieved and remind you that you’ve got this mama 💕
  • Your postpartum body doesn’t need to “bounce back.” It has stretched, grown, and brought life into this world—it is not something to fix. 💗

Yes, your body will look and feel different. You don’t have to love every part of it, but you can appreciate it—for what it has done, for what it is still doing.

In a society that glorifies the hustle, productivity, and ‘looking like you didn’t just have a baby even if thought you just had a baby’, rest is often overlooked. But true recovery doesn’t come from bouncing back; it comes from slowing down.

Rest is productive. Healing is productive. Slowing down is productive.

This season isn’t about bouncing back or rushing ahead—it’s about settling in. Recognising the work your body has done, not just in birth but throughout pregnancy too, and giving it the time and care it truly needs.

Let’s rewrite the narrative—slow down, embrace the transition, and move forward from a place of rest. 💗

  • At 39 weeks pregnant, my village did the most beautiful thing—they showed up unannounced, each with a meal to fill my freezer for postpartum. 🥹🥰 Every container is a reminder that we are supported in this season.

I wish every mama could feel this kind of love and support as they navigate postpartum. It truly takes a village, and no one should have to do it alone. 💕

Working in this space I am so aware that not everyone has a village, so this is a reminder that if you can be part of someone’s village—by dropping off a meal, sending a kind message, or simply checking in—it can make a world of difference. Let’s show up for each other in whatever way we can. 💗
  • This mama got her VBAC!!! 💪🏽💗
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Baby boy, weighing 4.7kgs born at 39 + 6 weeks! After an incredible calm and beautiful day labouring at home with my partner, mum and best friend, my midwife arrived and I was 8cm - it was time to go. After what felt like the longest, most intense drive of my life wondering if I was going to give birth in the car - we made it to hospital with my body feeling ready to push.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Baby had shoulder dystocia but all was calm and sorted quickly thanks to my amazing midwife. The only downside was having to have an epidural AFTER labour 🤣 for surgery to fix my tears (that I didn’t even feel happening) What a wild ride, women are incredible. Our bodies are incredible. We can birth big babies. I felt confident, I knew my options, I was prepared and felt in control the whole time and what a difference it made. Even with the shoulder dystocia and 3rd degree tearing - it was insanely incredible.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After now going through both an emergency belly birth and vaginal birth - neither way is easy 🤣, there is no easy way out of birth - every birth is an individual experience no matter what way you birth - but what I do know is we are women and we can do hard things 💪🏽 and the end result is magic ✨ 💗
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My non negotiable labour tools were a supportive partner/team who cheer you on, deep breathing, my birth comb - I held onto that thing for dear life, a wheat pack on my lower back, my partner squeezing my hips, regular clary sage cold flannels on forehead, a tens machine and warm flannels on the perineum!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So far recovery has been very smooth thanks to our products!(more details on that to come) but I would seriously be lost without my Peri Bottle and Witch Hazel, Healing spray and Padsicle Gel! My daily skincare-down-there routine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Absolutely obsessed with our new addition, and soaking up our little newborn bubble 💗
  • “After giving birth, I chose to “sit the month” (traditionally known as zuò yuè zi in Chinese) in a way that felt right for me. Some like to call it the confinement period, though I find that term gives off an unenjoyable practice. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the postpartum period is seen as a unique window for healing, where the woman’s body is more receptive to nourishment and restoration. By embracing certain TCM practices, like focusing on warmth, consuming nourishing foods, and resting; the body can recover and even improve to a state better than before pregnancy.

It was a precious time for me, surrounded by the support of my family. But I know this tradition is not for everyone. I definitely had to set boundaries with family and only do what I was comfortable with so that it was a positive and beneficial experience for me.

Sitting the month for me looked like:
✨Efforts in staying warm - dressing warmly and covering up, avoiding cold foods and drinks, staying indoors away from wind.

✨Having nourishing meals and consuming specific foods (like soups, broths, ginger, dates, goji) and herbal tonics to promote healing, enhance energy, boost blood circulation, enhance milk production and balance the body’s yin and yang energies.

✨No showering and washing hair until a week after birth as this exposes the vulnerable body to “wind and cold”.

✨Family helping with cooking, cleaning and caring for my toddler

✨Limiting visitors - this allowed me to rest and focus on babies needs, while also limiting exposure to illnesses.

Even if full “sitting the month” practices aren’t your thing, there are aspects of this period, like prioritising rest, nourishing your body, and leaning on family support that can be embraced. Maybe it can be a reminder that you just gave birth and your body deserves rest and to give yourself permission to be taken care of!”

Thanks for letting us share a piece of your postpartum journey 💗 @balancedwithjacki
  • ✨ I didn’t get to labour at home last time, so I’m really hoping for that spontaneous-at-home vibe this time around! 🤞🏼
My labour toolkit is all about creating a calm, oxytocin-filled bubble to keep things relaxed and empowering.

I’ve got a few essentials ready to support my body and mind until it’s time to head to the hospital. Plus, I’ve prepped a little grab-and-go bag, and my partner knows exactly what to pack to keep the vibes going (sans flame candles, of course 😉).

💡 Save this for later if you’re building your own labour toolkit or grab our free checklist to make it even easier to choose what feels right for you. 💗
  • This one gets me right in the feels 😭💗
